Fire Ant Funeral Postponed to Spring

It looks like the fire ants in our neighborhood will live to see another day.

The MWCA has cancelled the Fire Ant Funeral that was originally scheduled for October 18 because the sterilant is not available in sufficient quantity to treat the entire neighborhood.  Proper timing is essential: the product must be applied while the ants are actively foraging for food.  Unfortunately, MWCA cannot get the product in time this Fall to be able to treat yards while the ants are active.

The Fire Ant Funeral has been rescheduled to Spring 2016. Watch Nextdoor and this website for the new date.
